For 15 years, we've supported individuals nationwide through online and in-person training courses, and we're now looking for someone to help nurture leads interested in our training and re-engage past customers with expiring certifications.

Role Overview:

Have you felt the reward of guiding someone from no knowledge to finding the exact answer they need, cutting through the overwhelming information online? As our part-time Energy Efficiency Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving our business forward by handling both inbound and outbound sales activities. In this role, you’ll manage phone calls, live chat inquiries, and re-engage past clients for renewals while having the opportunity to expand into new business development. You will be the trusted guide for our customers, focusing on educational conversations that add real value rather than hard sales pitches. Your creativity, strategic thinking, and enthusiasm for sustainability will help you find innovative ways to upsell and engage clients, making every interaction count.

This is a part-time, hourly contractor position with the potential for growth based on performance. You will report to the Marketing Manager, who will guide you through onboarding and training. Together, you will brainstorm and tackle opportunities with both tactical and strategic determination.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone and live chat
  • Re-engage past clients for renewal opportunities and emphasize the value of maintaining certifications for their careers
  • Perform outbound sales outreach for new business opportunities when needed
  • Build meaningful relationships with customers by understanding their needs and providing thoughtful solutions
  • Actively look for opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services and training
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in a CRM
  • Approach each customer interaction with a human-centered mindset, focusing on being helpful, educational, and informative
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to increase renewals and new sales

Requirements:

  • Knowledge or familiarity with energy efficiency, sustainability, or related fields
  • Comfortable speaking with customers on the phone; enjoys talking to people
  • Strong desire to grow sales and a natural curiosity for finding solutions
  • Resilient and undeterred by rejection; able to maintain a positive attitude
  • Strategic thinker who can spot opportunities for upselling
  • Ability to take innovative, resourceful approaches to customer engagement
  • Experience with CRM tools to log and track interactions (or a willingness to learn)
  • Passionate about providing exceptional customer service and willing to go the extra mile to help clients
  • Remote work capability with availability during regular business hours (likely 1-4 PM)

Although much of this work can be completed remotely, preference will be given to candidates local to the Charlotte metro area.
